Computer Decision Support Systems

 

A strategy for changing clinician behavior. Computer-based information systems used to integrate clinical and patient information and provide support for decision-making in patient care. In clinical decision support systems that are computer-based, detailed individual patient data are entered into a computer program and are sorted and matched to programs or algorithms in a computerized database, resulting in the generation of patient-specific assessments or recommendations. CDSS scan have the following purposes: alerting, reminding, critiquing, interpreting, predicting, diagnosing, and suggesting.
